![]() Raking the slide keeps the muzzle pointed downrange in a much more tactical manner. **I should add that early on I got a wrist slap from the RSO because I deviated my muzzle direction from downrange while being cool with chambering a round with the stop lever. I no longer use the slide stop lever at all while shooting. The only time I use the slide stop lever now is when I lock the slide back to inspect the chamber to insure the gun is unloaded having the lever extended for this is superfluous. It looks and sounds cool, especially when Bruce Willis did it double-wielding 1911s in "Last Man Standing", but serves no purpose except to disrupt the grip. After watching the PDN vids (that came with my NRA membership) which advocates the habit of racking the slide with the weak hand (maintaining the strong hand grip), I've found the slide stop lever useless while shooting. I started out using the slide stop to release the slide and to chamber a round during reload by rotating my strong hand around**. I can't imagine not having extended slide lock control, but slide stop? ![]() I have both extended slide lock and slide stop controls installed.
